With 11 years of experience and a passion for helping people achieve their home-buying goals, Matt understands the importance of loyalty, open communication, and building strong relationships.
Matt has competed in sports his whole life, playing basketball and football at the provincial level, and then completing his BBA at Acadia University, while playing varsity football. When given the opportunity to build Nova Mortgage with his father, Matt was excited to help people discover the benefits of living in Halifax, which he feels is one of the most diverse and best cities in Canada. He excelled at this, being recognized as the 2011 Faces Magazine Mortgage Broker of the Year as well as being recognized as a top 15 award winner for outstanding sales performance, achieving the #8 spot in Atlantic Canada for 2016.
A people person who enjoys the new challenges that each day brings with an ever-changing industry, Matt is always looking for new opportunities to get the best options for his clients’ personal needs. He specializes in teaching first-time home buyers about the process of purchasing, cash and credit flow management and analysis, new to Canada applicants, discovering investment opportunities and helping families transition from one home to next. He enjoys empowering people to make sound financial decisions, both for the short and long term.
Matt is also a proud husband and father, and dedicates much of his spare time to being a volunteer football coach as Defensive Co-ordinator of the Citadel High School Football Team, as well as a member of the Pastoral Planning Committee at St. Thomas Aquinas Parish in Halifax.
